I'm in a 20 team league w/ rather large rosters. Saves are at a premium. I keep looking for Troy Percival to pop up as an available player since he was recently signed by the Cardinals. How long does it take for new players or players called up to show up as an available option?

Based on my experiences, they are usually there within a couple of days once they are on the active MLB roster. Percival will probably be there by tomorrow.

Percival is with the Cardinals now after pitching six innings with their Memphis Triple-A farm team in Memphis. He did well with them pitching around 6 innings and giving up only one run. He retired a few years back because of his persistent sore arm but he says it feels real good now. If Isringhausen goes down Percival will close but for now he will come in for certain hitters in spot situations. I think he would be a good pick-up.

I can only speak from what I've seen in minors to majors - usually when they get the call, they're packing and on their way...how long it takes them to get there is the main thing.
