Geez, would my wife and I argue over this for hours! LOL One of my favorite bands is Pink Floyd, can't think of any band who had a better run of albums than the ones Floyd released in the 70's like: Meddle, Dark Side, Wish You Were Here, Animals, The Wall. I can listen to them every day. On the other hand, my wife likes Depeche Mode almost more than any other band. I can't get into them, but she absolutely loves them. To each his own, I guess. Peace.

I can't say that I'm a huge fan of either one but there isn't a single song by Floyd that I can get down with. They just never spoke to me the way they did with alot of others. There are a couple of songs by Depeche Mode that I like the, the biggest one being Enjoy the Silence. I'd have to say that Pink Floyd is probably a lot more historically relevant but unfortunately they are also right there with the Dead, Phish and other jam bands as being heavily associated with drug use.

Pink Floyd is a great band, sells millions of albums, but not really a hitmaker. I'll go with Depeche Mode.
