Not really i'm taking my first lesson next week. You just gotta go out there and try. Thats my motto. Once you get use to the idea of being in the water the panic goes away. A least thats where i'm at. One of the first things to work on is being comfortable with you head in the water. Its a strange feeling that every swimmer has to get use to.

Wendi,
I'm kind of embarrassed to say this but I was 32 years old before I learned how to swim. I went to the YMCA and took lessons. It took me about three sessions, but I did learn how. My biggest problem was my fear of water, they work with you and they do understand and the end result was good, I not only learned how to swim but I learned the right way.

Yes, I can't imagine not being able to. I don't know where you live, but if possible check with the local YMCA, or YWCA and get some cheap lessons. It will be totally worth it, and you never really know when you might need it.
