If Idea is contant why there are times when we can change our ideas? Please, explain?

why do you say that 'idea' is constant? consciousness is constant but we are constantly changing and evolving our ideas based on experiences and new information. we do hold on to some ideas but i think that's when we don't investifate them too closly. thinking about our ideas, talking about them, getting other persepctives can help us get new insights about what we though we knew, and if they don't change they get reinforced. it's bugging me that I can't rememeber who said it but someone said that change is the only constant in life. everything is always in flux, you just have to go with it guess :)

Its fairly well known we can change people thro education.

Thus it has likely for a very long time ,been known that
we could change ourselves(i will not keep saying it-thro
education!); And all change must meet what was there before-instinct,traits,niches,abnormalitiese,etc.
Take war,violence. I think there is now no doubt that this has
been counteracted by law and Order(with a capitol"O");
Have we reached the half way point in this endeavor?
Your guess is as good as most(and better than mine).
Ive always advocated reducing the population,as one way of
helping to achieve the above goal of elimination of war(!)
But when Law-and-Order breaks down,we have little chance
with it.
So there are times when we are swayed.No matter,we try again.

What is idea?
Moment of inspiration. Thought that get enlighten in a second, in a specific conditions and is unbeatable for that momentum.
It is good to have principles, and to keep on for something. But, that doesn't mean that if you get a better idea in the meantime you shouldn't move on it. Thoughts are always in some process of moving, like life, like earth, like all space, going on and on.
Then why our ideas should stay same?
