You read to enlighten your soul, brighten your day, release your adventurous side, and just for FUN!! I read all sorts of things from Harry Potter to Dickens. Don't overlook the classics just because they're dusty, some of those authors are wonderful. I highly recommend Les Miserables, Bronte, Austen, Dickens [obviously] as classics. Also, I'm a fan of Rice, Grisham, King, & Crighton as more contemporary authors. Enjoy!

Reading expands your mind, any time you read a book you will learn something, the more you read, the more you will learn, whether it be an historical fact, a clue on how to solve personal problems, spell or use words. Read and learn!

i'm still in school, so it helps a lot with spelling and general knowledge! i can see when i haven't read for a while, that i can't spell correctly anymore. i'm afrikaans so i love Francine River's books (wich is also in english), but you should read what interests you and i'm not talking about magazines, but even reading the newspaper once in a while would help!
happy reading :)
