Most moslems agree that Al Queda is not a typical form of Islam. Why not toss it away from Islam and label it a cult? There have been many Christian groups which have been labeled this way. Shouldn't the media do this?
It would be a good way to set the people in Al Queda aside. Why let a cult tarnish the whole religion?
The Jim Jones group and the Wako, Texas groups were labeled 'cults' if I remember right. There must be others who were labeled this way too. If there were Christians acting the way Al Queda has, wouldn't the media and political leaders call that group a cult?
It's time to start calling Al Queda what it really is.

If Al Queda is beheading people then they definitely aren't mainstream Islam.

Don't you watch the news or read the newspaper? Al Queda as far as I've always heard has been called a cult, besides, what's in a name. They're Muslim extremists and are outcasts, terrorists. In the news today, finding 22 bodies, beheaded, wouldn't you consider them extremists?
What more do you want?

Although Christians tend to condemn fellow Christians in public, in my experience it's extremely uncommon to find examples of Muslims openly critical of other Muslims. Hence the unwillingness to publicly condemn Islamist terrorists.
You say "Al Queda", I say "al Qaida" (ka-ee-da) but what's in a name? It's a group of Islamist terrorists that opposes the values and actions of practically every nation on the planet (not just USA and UK). I choose the word Islamist rather than Islamic because I have no intention of insulting Muslims or the Islamic faith.

Why don't we consider USA feat. UK as a violent cult?
If USA is killing thousands of innocent people around the world for gaining the oil fields, testing their weapon industry and making wars with explanation that it is for peace, then they are not mainstream of Christianity?! Or you think Christ said make wars for peace?
