I'm not understanding the question. Is he saying to forget about marriage? If that's what you mean, I have to assume he doesn't want to marry you.

sounds like he has commitment issues or not the marrying type. This is grand if you share the same feelings too but you want to move on if you have ideals of settling down, marriage, kids etc
