We live right outside of Nashville, Tn, so we need something that isn't too far away. Truly, we'd love to find something that has some forms of entertainment...yet relaxing at the same time. The Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. I spent four years there for college, and its absoltuely stunning in October.

You can also do upstate NY, such as the Finger Lakes, or the Adirondacks, but thats a good day's drive alone from Nashville, and you kill two days just traveling.

(If you time it right better than Vermont, or New Hampshire with fewer crowds of nicer people!)

How about Asheville, NC? Beautiful scenery, great city vibe yet laidback and plenty to do. Also check out the Biltmore House.
