Hi there, I'm going to be visiting Greece this summer, and from Athens I'd like to go to Santorini and then Lefkada. Is this a good way to get around, as they are the 3 main places I'd like to go, and how would you get to and from places? Thank you!!

Not very convenient choices 'cause Lefkada in in the Ionian sea and Sandorini is on the other side of Greece, at the Aegean sea. But there is one advantage: You can go to Lefkada by car or bus.
So first you should go to Sandorini from Athens by ferry then come back to Athens and get a bus to Lefkada. Of course you could take an airplane if you can afford it.

You have to start both journeys from Athens. You take the boat or the plane to Santorini from Athens, then get back to Athens, and take a bus to Lefkada. You can also fly from Athens to an airport near Lefkada, so if you can find flights that connect well it will save you a lot of time.

From Athens to Santorini there are many ferry connections - the faster the more expensive, http://www.gtp.gr. (it can be something around 4 hours).
You could also fly with olympic airlines http://www.olympicairlines.com/ or aegean airlines http://www.aegeanair.com/aegeanen/home/ (but it is too expensive) or by seaplane http://www.airsealines.com/
From Athens to Lefkada, you can only drive your car or ride a bus (it should take about 5-6 hours). Unfortunately, they don't have a site, but the tel number is in Athens 210-5150108, 210-5151544 and in Lefkada 26450-22364. (+30 code for Greece).

First from Piraeus port you take the boat to Santorini and then you have to return to Athens where you can go to Lefkada by car or bus.

Go to kayak.com and find flights from Crete to Athens, and then from Athens to Lefkada. (this is the fastest way to get to Lefkada)
Aegean and Olympic do both trips. Kayak.com is just a great way to find cheap tickets!

You can not go directly. You have to go to Athens and then catch a boat or a plane to Santorini.
