Can Steve Nash be compared to John Stockton?

Or all they have alike is that they are two very efficent white point guards, with a pass first mentality?

if nash played during the mj era he would not have those mvps besides stockton had way better stats than nash during those mvp years

First I am a die hard suns fan but I hate it when people try to compare who a player plays like. How about instead of looking for the next Jordon, Stockton, Bird, and Magic. We let the current stars be who the are. To answer you question Stockton was a member of the dream team. He was the original master of the high pick and roll. Stockton also was a great defender. Nash is by far the better ball handler, but Stockton was great even having knee surgory which ends most Point Gaurds careers. So from Someone who wears a numner 13 jersey every time the suns play I still have to say Stockton is better.

Ahh god here we go again. This is like people asking if Kobe can be compare to MJ. People say he can't and people say he can. I personally don't think he can. Until he can get into the finals then we'll talk, Stockton atleast got to the finals, Nash has never been there before. Stockton was a far better passer anyway.

I know nash has two mvps but nash never had to play with anyone like karl malone on his teaml, and if you argue Stoudemire, hell no, there is no way stoudmire is even on the same level that malone was on.

As you said they're both white, both pass first PGs, but I think Stock is more efficient, since as pointed out by one answerer he made the Finals. He had only one all-star teammate which is Malone compared to Nash's two (Stoudamire and Marion). Although I don't like Stock's plays (Rodman's famous book Bad as I wanna be states the truth Stockton is one of the dirtiest player who gets his ways with calls) I have to give it to him because his efficiency is better than Steve's as of this time...

i think that steve nash could definately be compared to john stockton, and my opinion i believe steve nash is better then john stockton, i dont know any stats or anything, but thats my opinion
