I'm looking to update my ride - I currently have a 2001 Lexus RX300, which seems a little "old man" for me. I'm looking at the Nissan Murano or the BMW X3 - any opinions out there? I like the comfort of my RX300 (reliable, good visibility, smooth) but feel like I'm too young (mid-30's) to be driving this car. Pro's and Con's of the X3 or Murano would be great! Thanks!

I'm a BMW enthusiast. And I have even driven the X3 3.0 on an autocross track.

But I have to say that the Murano would make more sense than the X3.

Murano beats the X3 on:
- Looks (interesting cafe latte interior color, nice exterior design)
- Space
- Value
- Technology (Xtronic CVT transmission, LED taillights, standard 7" front LCD...etc)
- Power (245hp 3.5-liter V6)

The X3 wins on these features:
- Hill Decent control
- 6 speed manual transmission available
- Standard dynamic stability control

Conclusion: get the Murano.
