Take the hinges off the door or, if you can, pull the pin out of the hinges. Try sliding a credit card down the space between the door and the wall and see if you can force the thingie over. Sometimes a coat hanger will do it. I've also used the metal thingie in a hanging file holder. When all else fails you can pound a screwdriver into the lock and break it into bits-like they did to my office when they broke in. But if you have a properly installed dead bolt, you better call a locksmith.

Depending on which way the door opens... if it opens into the bedroom, then all you have to do is take a credit card, knife, something of this sort (whatever works) and slide it onto the latch to hold it open and push, just work w/ it a little and it should open.. if it opens toward you. then this will not work. only option is to get a locksmith, or break it down..

Got a plastic credit card or small piece of cardboard?Pull the door a little bit forward. Then slide the card in the slot provided, slowly push card in til you get over the knob that keeps it closed. Now push the card straight thru and it should open.the card holds the knob out of the way.

Try the credit card trick. Jam it between the lock thing and door frame.

Call a locksmith.
When I think about it maybe you are trying to get into someone elses bedroom. Just knock on the door maybe she will let you in.

Well, sometimes you can take a credit card or butter knife and run it through the place where the door latches and get it to open.
