I'm so excited to get a new fish. i've had about 60 in my life and they all died and i want to start a fresh. you can also write down your ideas of names but nothing to simple or boring or casual ok? i want a cute name. maybe in japanese?

You sound like you are going to be a great fish owner. It is awesome when people do the proper research, and just get a few fish they get to know and let grow to adults -- goldies are very smart and have cool personalities. and that name is cool! But remember not to jump the gun -- goldies are addicting lol, look around til you see one that really strikes your fancy and seems to connect with you, that way when you see that one later you wont have the urge to get another one, which will mean an even bigger tank. Tho, goldies do better with at least two so if you get a good tank then two would be fun, they school around.

demekin is fine by me -- i am assuming you know what it means -- i had one named dragon roll because they are dragon eyes in china. goldifish origanate from china so chinese might be better but who nobody is keeping score. bottom line is they are fun fish. make sure you give him a big home - they grow fast and would like about 20 gallons with a filter. if you can't provide that now then save for the future.
