alot of new games have updates on them. when you first put in the game the updates will automatically install. i got an update over a year ago for the wireless internet browser for the psp. after that you just need a wireless internet available. set up the connection(very simple) in the browser and you should be good to go

If you have a Broadband connection you can use a wireless router otherwise you have to find a hotspot there's a lot of hotspot finders on google.
