Ok, I was responding to an earlier question concerning a fake Harry Potter book and it got me to thinking about the DA. We all know that originally the DA was supposed to be something for the students to learn DADA in Harry's fifth year and at the same time basically thumb their noses at Umbridge who wasn't going to teach them anything. It was never really meant as an orginization to fight Voldemort and the Death Eaters with, but seems that that may be what some of the DA are becoming.

I got to looking at the battle at the Ministry of Magic and the one on the night Dumbledore died. In both cases at least six members of the DA take part in both battles, and it's the same six. Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny, and Luna. Rowling seems to have made these six the core members of the DA, and in both battles they end up either being saved by the Order of the Phoenix, or pretty much fighting beside it.

So is it possible she's setting the DA up to be the next OoP?

i can see it happening. the Order's gotta die sometime, and some already have. but then again if voldemort is defeated once and for all, there wouldnt be a need for a new Order. they might create a new one who's sole job is to watch out for any returns, but it would be virtually useless.

I think these six are the future of the Order of the Phoenix. They are the children of members (alive or dead) and know its secrets. When the older OoP members die, I believe that Harry, Ron, Hermione, Neville, Ginny, and Luna will take their places and continue on as the OoP. All six children are loyal to the DA and understand its purpose. I think these kids will go on to become the OoP.

Yeah..they are like going to be the next generation of OoP...With Harry being in the lead as the Professor Dumbledore,Hermione as his right hand person as Prof McGonnagal and Ron someone very loyal like Hagrid?

Just A thought..

I think so. I mean, as someone has stated, the Order will die out and there needs to be someone to take their place or something.
And also, she could just be focusing on those characters because they are all connected to each other (Harry and Neville. Harry and Luna both hear the voices, and so on) .
Also, if you notice, they are pairs: Harry/Ginny, Ron/Hermione and Neville/Luna (Yes, J.K.R has stated they aren't going to be a pair...but they're so perfect for each other!)

I think that is a good possiblility. Eventually everyone in the Order will get too old to fight and they will need younger members. Of course I think Harry will become an auror and will be in charge of the new Order.

It's a possibility and a obvious one that could come true. But at the moment it's a rumor.

However rumors do come true as before OOTP, I did believe that the Order of the Phoenix was a anti-Voldemort faction.
