There are a few actually, depending on your definition of newer. When u asked, the first band that came to my mind was Buckcherry

I really like "The Killers" sound. I think musically they are really talented and their second album is even better than the first.
Not really a newer band, but I like Nickelback because of their harmony and rock 'n' roll sound.

I think some great bands are VHS or BETA, Index Case, and Rooney. They aren't the newest bands out there, but they're not old.....If I had to choose one, I'd say....VHS or BETA! They don't make music to fit what's popular. I love that. All their songs have really good beats. They're way funky. Vocals=thumbs up. They're underrated.

How new? I'm tempted to say Muse, but their first album came out in 1999, which makes them ancient compared to some bands.

If we're talking about bands that have only existed in this millennium and have only put out one album or two, I vote for Serena-Maneesh, whose debut album is just a big heap of glorious noise.

Paramore. And here's why. They're songs are smart, catchy and rockin'. They've got a great style. Their lead singer Hayley is a bundle of cute, punk-rock fun (weird description I know). And they're really strong live. I guarantee their new album "Riot!" will make them huge. But it's their cd "All We Know" that made me fall in love with them. Give em a listen.

(And lookout for them on all the music vid countdowns, their new single is called "Misery Business")

Silversun Pickups and The Kooks because I like indie.
K-os and Gym Class Heroes because I like the rap/hip hop feel of it. K-os is all about preserving the MC and B boy style.

No new band is the best. They all are great in their own ways.

Some new bands I do like, though, are NoFX, The Hurt Process, stuff like that. They rock, but don't follow other bands. They are their own type! That's why I love them.
