It means you have a 49 MegaOhm resistor (with a 2% tolerance) and you're reading the colors backwards.
(Good guess there, Doug, but not quite it.)

The generally accepted emotional meanings of colors vary depending on the context in which they are used. For example, in romance red indicates passion, while in traffic it indicates STOP. Blue can indicate feeling sad or weighted down with bad emotions, or it can reference the wide open sky on a gorgeous day, and therefor freedom and weightlessness. White may indicate purity or it may symbolize a vast nothingness. The meaning of colors in our life are what we make them .... sources of endless wonder, or stuck-in-the-mud definitions which defy change.

those are multiple colors not just one. each one can represent an emotion or a flavor or a time of day or any number of things. they are colors we see every day, the primary colors. through those colors we get every other color we see. they are the basics, the starting point and as they mix and blend we get a miriad of colors, sights, sounds, tastes, and sensations. without color we would all be living in Pleasentville. choices would be simpler, moderation wouldnt be necessary, and life would hardly be as dramatic as it is.

well, that is sort of a broad question. For ME, red is strong and vibrant. Blue is calming and safe. White is innocence and spirituality. Yellow is cheerful. Black is heavy and also safe.
Hope that helps.
