You should definately gamble - I mean that IS the main attraction and the reason Vegas exists. But there are tons of other things to do in that city:
1. Drink at clubs and lounges - RAIN (PALMS casino) and PURE (Caesar's Palace) are amongst the best two clubs with the best dance floors, decor, and setup. You can drink all night and day in vegas (no last call in Vegas!)
2. If you're into rides, then the roller coaster at NEWYORK NEWYORK casino is the best roller coaster in Vegas. There is also the Big Shot and INSANITY rides atop of the Stratosphere Casino (with the best views in the city, as good as a helicopter view).
3. Eat at buffets and other great restaurants. Buffets like Bellagio's or Wynn's have trancended the common buffet of stale food. They serve gourmet dishes like Kobe beef and hand made desserts. Great food, good service, clean and fun atmosphere. You'll definately enjoy this.
4. Watch the sunrise by staying up all night and partying and then seeing the drunks and broke gamblers barely make it back to their hotel rooms in the early morning. It is the quietiest time in Vegas, and a little relaxing. You can really see how Vegas can ruin you for those that you see are completely distraught over losing - but its a good way to keep your sanity while you there.
5. Go swimming and treat yourself to a massage. This will be fun. When you get out of the pool, you can feel the heat radiating on your back and your feet will feel warmer than getting out of the pool anywhere else. It feels good, and then getting a massage later will be the perfect way to settle into a fun night. Something about swimming in the heat as the sun is going down in the Vegas desert is relaxing and calming.
6. You can shop at the FORUM in Caesar's Palace or the Passage at the Hollywood Planet Casino. They have the widest selection and the nicest shops.
7. Just enjoy yourself and have fun, dont plan out every little thing.
Lucky you, have fun - wish I was going too. Hope this helps.

I go to Las Vegas atleast once a year, if I cant get my friends to go, I go by myself. I fly in from New York stay usually on the strip. First Day that Im there I walk the strip its around 4 or 5 miles from The Stratosphere to Mandalay Bay. Obviously I dont walk the whole thing but I take my time stoping in the casino that I want to see just spend the whole day checking out the sites. There is so much to do there and new things all the time and the night life is unbelieveable. Just drink alot of water because its very hot. Enjoy, have fun & good luck.

OK first, trust know one, watch ur pockets and scam artists and be aware of prostitutes they may be beautiful but could also be a man ...very true. Most hotels ...good ones, have safes in rooms keep money inside it, don't carry it all. The Strip is on Las Vegas blvd, there is a bus (the deuce) that also takes u straight to Down town (Fremont Experience)more casinos also has a really cool light show on fremont that shows every hour 9 pm also live music. Most of ur bigger hotels, have night clubs, kinda costly. Also must see's ..At night time, "The Belagio's " water show, "The Mirage" erupting volcano and Treasure island.. aka..ti Pirate show. All those are free and located in front of their hotels . Information booths are also on the strip as well as on Fremont Exp. Down town. Good Luck, have fun!!!! Hope this all helped ;)

Do you have any idea about what you might want to do? Gamble, drink, eat or even look for a lady friend?
I've been out there a few times to visit for 1 day a friend that moved out there, but I stay 4 days. Depending on my mood, I just stay on the strip all day-night and play craps. Then the next night I might go see the light show on Freemont Street, then walk around downtown, it 's fun just people watching. If you like or can afford it, there are ultra bars, clubs, or whatever turns you on,

I went to Vegas alone 2 weeks ago just to refresh my mind. I don't really drink, smoke, nor gamble. I stayed in downtown for 2 nights and took a red-eye flight at midnight. Well? What did I do there? I went to see the Phantom of the Opera - sat in the Golden circle - and just walked around on the Strip+downtown and enjoyed all the free shows out there. I also went to see Ocean's 13 and Pirates of Caribbean 3 at Neonopolis theaters (in downtown area) after I checked out from the hotel. It was a bit lonely eating and walking alone but that's what I chose to do and needed to get away from my life for a while. There are great shows out there - ask people for more info. and you choose whatever attracts you. You will enjoy Las Vegas even though you are alone... Have a wonderful time!!!

Celebrate your adventure.
You will meet people in bars and the restaurants.
I live her now, and for two years planned my move.
So used to come out every so often alone to check jobs and housing.
Met some very nice people at the pool, bars and as I said the restaurants.
This is a great city to visit.
At night what do you want to do, as there is one of everything in the world in this city.
When you get to your hotel, there's a magazine on the TV stand called "What's On." It has offers and a list of every attraction in town.
On Friday get the Las Vegas Review Journal. Pull out section called Neon, also full of ideas on things to do for a visitor.
Go to Hoover Dam it is an incredible sight.

Don't drink too much, first of all. Be aware of your surroundings. It's a pretty safe place really as long as you are aware and not intoxicated so someone can take advantage of you.
