Lori can assemble 1/x bikes in a minute
=60/x bikes in an hour
=600/x bikes in 10 hours.

Jon can assemble 1/(x-16) bikes in a minute
=60/(x-16) bikes in an hour
=600/(x-16) bikes in 10 hours.

number of bikes they can assemble if they work together for a ten hour shift
=600/x+600/(x-16)
=[600(x-16)+600x]/[x(x-16)]
=[1200(x-8)]/[x(x-16)]
