Neither is good, of course. It depends on where you do it and who sees you. Anyone who burns a flag, regardless of what country is just asking for trouble. I am mexican and raised in US, and I would never dare burn either one. It's just wrong. It's a shame anyone would do such a thing.

Are you talking about the guy in Arizona arrested while burning a Mexican flag in a counter-demonstration protest of another protest over immigration?
He was arrested for "reckless burning", not specifically for burning the Mexican flag. And he was released. He could have gotten the same for burning anything carelessly.
Keep in mind he also assaulted a cameraman and a photographer although only one of them is pressing charges. He was being a jerk.
There were other people from the original demonstration group that were arrested that day for assaulting the flag burners, too.
The flag burning was incidental- it wasn't the central problem. Assaulting others was the central problem.

I think they'd both be considered freedom of expression. And while I agree with that; it is really just a flag after all, I don't think people should go around being an @$$ and burning flags for attention like that anarchist guy in the 80s.
But he was free to do it, in my opinion.

That depends where you burn it. If you burn it in Mexico, there will be a riot. But not if your in America. I don't think Mexico has the same Freedom Laws.

Not all laws are fair. Not all lawmakers knew what they were doing at the time. Some knew what they were doing and did not have sense enough to not do it. There are many explanations. Some things just don't make sense. There is no sense or respect in the world. We just have to get used to that fact and be as sensible and respectful as we can be to others. That doesn't mean we should be stupid; just be sensible and respectful.

I guess with the 'amnesty bill' and this, it shows where our governments real loyalties lie!
