WinAntiSpyware is a rogue anti-spyware product that tricks the user with deceptive tactics in order to purchase the WinAntiSpyware product. WinAntiSpyware pops fake security notifications on the Taskbar, and ultimately tricks the user into purchasing Ultimate Defender in order to clean the alleged security-related problems. WinAntiSpyware 2006 or WinAntiSpyware 2007 may redirect your searches, and may come bundled with other spyware/adware.

Scan your PC with these to remove it. Both are free and safe to use.

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by common anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behaviour to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. Even if you don't see the symptoms, your computer may be infected, because more and more spyware is emerging. Spybot-S&D is free.

WinAntiSpyware and its scam advertising and the other malware (Amaena popups) that is bundled with it, is often caused by the Trojan Vundo, also known as Virtumonde.

Most "all-purpose" anti-malware products such as AVG, Norton, Spybot S & D, etc. cannot remove or even detect Vundo, as you may have found out.

VundoFix.exe has become the standard removal tool for Vundo / Virtumondo.

VundoFix.exe is a free removal tool developed to remove Virtumonde infections. To use the tool follow the instrctions on the web-site:

Hope this helps, it does help in a lot of cases.

Good luck.

Your best defense to remove WinAntiSpyware, or any other spyware, is to quickly detect and delete WinAntiSpyware processes, registry keys, DLL files, and other hazardous WinAntiSpyware files from your computer.
Ad-Aware SE Personal combined with
Spybot Search and Destroy combined with
Super-Anti-Spyware can do that.
But, sometimes they fail for some apparent reason. Maybe that bit of spyware deletes the logs so they can't find it...
In that case, you'll have to manually delete it.

use some antivirus antivirus application. Id recomment you download and install bitdefender internet security (30 day fully functional trial) from www.bitdefender.com. though for freeware uninstall utilities, try spybot search and destroy. Or microsoft's windows defender or windows malicious software removal tool both available free from www.microsoft.com. hope this helps.
