Okay, so. On January 4th my new Alienware lapytop arrived. I was so happy. Okay, it is now that I realise my computer is not bad, it is very good, but AMD turion can't stand up to intel core 2 duo. Is it possible to buy intel core to duo and get it installed by the geek squad or someone, also, I have nVidea Sli 7, so I am not sure if is compatible. PLEASE PLASE HELP!!!!!

Intel and AMD processors use different sockets, which is where the CPU is installed. They are physical different, which means that you cannot install an opposite brand processor in it. You are stuck with AMD processors. Now if you are really unsatisfied, there is probably a higher end AMD that you could install in there, however to know that I would need to know what model you have in there now. well .. no, you cant switch in an intel processor ... realize that a laptop will never be as fast as a desktop either and felt speed will have alot more to do with the harddrive speed and memory speed than the processor also .. so if u upgraded the laptop harddrive from a 4600rpm to a 7600rpm the felt speed of the laptop will effectively double ..
