The idea that God has planned these difficult times in my life since day one. I may not understand why they are here while I'm going through them, but in the end my character is just being molded toward a better me. This revelation is what "helps" me maintain focus. But of coarse there are truly difficult times when even the most faithful will loose all focus!

Sudoku.
I was learning how to play sudoku and had been at it for a few days. But I was stuck with one particular game and kept coming back to the mostly blank squares, checking and rechecking, baffled as to where I was going wrong. And then an answer appeared and suddenly I was able to continue. Where there was just a dead end before, now there was a road that went further, just like that. Out of nowhere.
So whenever I reach a dead end with anything these days, I just think of that sudoku game and know that something will show itself, and so will the road.
True story :)

Focus during difficult times in life, is done best by understanding what the task at hand is and really sticking to the task. I generally do this for my self, once I have found what the task is, I have conditioned myself to make things happen to the best of my ability. To over estimate what your capabilities are may be one of the biggest set backs you may encounter. Stay real to your self.

People around me inspire when they do. These are not always in plentiful supply. Ideas that help are along the lines of: Well: I can make things worse by setting my mind and keeping my mind in dark places or I can focus on positives...like the fact that I can work for myself from time to time.
I'm one of those people who would be happy to just give it all up but, I know that the consequences would be anything but, worth it.

I have learned a great lesson that works beautifully. When unhappy thoughts come up, I ignore them. It has become a habit with me.
If there is a problem, I do what I can to solve the problem then I drop it. My mind does try to 'egg me on', but I just say no. It is possible to do this!
I think ruminating over problems causes the most misery. To develop this habit will change your life!
Also, there seems to be a change in how things 'happen' in your life...for the better!

If anything has recently happened to someone I know then maybe I focus on them. Maybe the girl I like and maybe just the possibility of happyness if I make it through the tought times.

The idea that no matter what happens, you are a focal point of energy and creation because you are alive. I watched as my mother took her last breath at age 99, and I know that everyone alive now will see their last breath, including myself. Death tells us we must all be fully awake to the complexity, beauty, and poignant briefness of life, take in its comedies and tragedies, and appreciate the splendor of the show.

Padre Pio /St. Pio of Pietrelcina, the italian saint who experienced the stigmata (five wounds of Christ) for fifty years of his life always gives me the inspiration to go on. There are an incredible amount of healings and countless untold miracles that have been attributed to the intercession of this humble saint. I found out about St. Pio from that wonderful tv show that used to be on at one time "Unsolved Mysteries". They had alot of inspirational stories that came to light on that show. I just lost my dad April 1st, and I know alot of people were praying to Padre Pio on his behalf too. See www.padrepio.com, or www.padrepio.org for more information.
