Craig Biggio-He will get in. 3000 hits, 400+steals, 650+ doubles,1800+runs scored, nearly 300hrs. He is in.
Tom Glavine-300 wins. In.
Roger Clemens-Do we need to even ask?
Greg Maddux-same as above
Curt Schilling-Close. Big game pitcher. Leads Red Sox to 1st title in many years. He will get a lot of votes, but I think will fall short. A few more good years would have helped him.
Frank Thomas-In. 500 hrs, probably over 1700 rbi, over 300 ba.
Ken Griffey Jr.-a lock
Randy Johnson-a lock
Alex Rodriguez-in already, could go down as one of the top 5 players ever
Derek Jeter-in already
Gary Sheffield-i say in. most likely 500 hrs, 1600+rbi, maybe close to 3000 hits (has 2470 and can play a few more years) 229 steals, .297 career average.
Albert Pujols-still early, great start though.
Barry Bonds-In
Johan Santana-still early but good start
Mike Mussina-no. Nice career but falls short. Still needs 58 wins for 300 and is 38. Fastball lost a lot of MPH this year.
David Wells-No. Nice career though
Jamie Moyer-No. Very good after 30, too bad he was crap before. Could have gotten to 300 wins if he wasn't 34-54 in his 20's
Pedro Martinez-I think yes. Injuries have hurt him, but when healthy he was dominating.
John Smoltz-Yes. Nice career, 200 wins, 150 saves, only guy to ever do that.
Jim Thome-Yes. Still 36. Might be able to reach 550+hrs.
Manny Ramirez-For sure. One of the best hitters of his generarion
Mike Piazza-a lock
Carlos Delgado-close. If he can string a few more good years, yes. 35 now though and looks bad this year.
Chipper Jones-I say yes. Not many 3B in hall, he is up there with the best of them.
Julio Franco-No. Long career, but not dominating ever.
Omar Vizquel-Yes. If Ozzie is in, he should be. At 40, will finish this year with 2600 hits. If he can play a few more years, he may reach 3000.

Not in:
Mike Mussina -- sixth-best pitcher of his era, which probably won't be good enough.

Curt Schilling -- seventh-best pitcher of his era, which won't be good enough. Carries a lot of narrative value though.

Starting pitchers in the "turn of the millenium" era will be represented by Clemens, Johnson, Maddux, Glavine, and Martinez -- and they make for an insanely tough crowd against which to appear favorably. Moose and Curt just aren't up to that level; they MIGHT get graced with bronze plaques, but I doubt it.

Gary Sheffield -- nothing in his career proclaims "Hall worthy!" no matter how I look at it. I just don't know with this guy.

David Wells
Jamie Moyer -- c'mon, these two guys?

Julio Franco -- longevity alone is not a Hall-class trait.

Omar Vizquel -- sorry, but I just don't see it, no matter how sterling his defense is. Shortstops of this era have included Jeter, Garciaparra, Tejada, and the tsunami of ARod. Omar's a whifflebat next to these studs, and his glove cannot make up the difference, plus they're all pretty good on D themselves.

Carlos Delgado -- good, not great. Couple of great seasons, which I look upon favorably, but not enough. There's lots of "good, not great, a few great seasons" guys not in the Hall, and Carlos will make that population one bigger.

Just too early, all right? Patience! They're doing the right things:
Albert Pujols
Johan Santana

Wells, Moyer, Franco will not make it.

Mussina is a long shot, as is Vizquel.

Delgado is likely, as is Chipper.

Smoltz should, Santana will if he continues this way for another decade. Sheffield will, although he's not exactly Mr. popular with the writers.

Everyone else on your list will make it.

Edit: Sorry, had to chime in about the person below who said Biggio won't make it. Aside from 3,000 hits, the man has scored over 1,800 runs. Think about that for a moment. 1,800 runs. By the end of this season he could easily be 12th on the all time list. While it's dangerous to focus on any one category, Runs carries far more weight than batting average. Additionally, he's hit close to 300 home runs, stolen over 400 bases and is closing in on 5th place on the all time doubles list. And let's not forget these offensive stats were accumulated playing most of his career at a defensive position...and playing that position very well. To say Biggio is not a hall of famer is, in my opinion, demonstrating an utter lack of understanding about what the Hall of Fame actually is.

They are all. Except Mussina Wells and Moyer they are iffy Mussina best chance out of those three. Franco no. Omar Vizquel probably not unless he gets a huge boost for his defense.

Personally, i think all the people answering the question above me are way to easy. First, it is going to get harder and harder to get into the hall. Used to 500 homers and you were in. Now???? Most on your list have the numbers by old hall standards. But, 10 years ago you only had 5 or 6 players hitting 300 plus in a season. Now you have tons. 15 years ago 30 homers was alot, now 30 homers isnt alot for a second baseman or shortstop. So, having said that...........Biggio will be first 3000 hit man not in hall. His 26x career avg. just not going to get it along with not alot of steals, homers, doubles, triples etc. Glavine, clemens, maddux in for sure. Schilling got some work to do. He has to get 300 wins or he isnt in. Frank Thomas not in unless he gets to 600 which i dont see. Griffey, johnson, a-rod, jeter in. Sheffield out. Pujols to early, he needs another 5 plus years to even be put on list. Bonds is in first ballot guaranteed. Santana like pujols brilliant start, but not hall of fame considerable yet. Mussina needs 300 which i think he will get. Wells, Moyer, Martinez out. Smoltz got a good shot. Thome out. Manny too early to say. Piazza out. Delgado probably not, but still has enough years left to change that. Chipper??? Franco out and last but not least my shocker i guess compared to what everyone else is saying vizquel will get in.
