Why does a fielder taking a great catch gets much more publicity than a keeper taking the same catch?

Because a wicket keeper allways is thinking about the ball coming to him and he has more knowledge about how would the ball reach him.Where as a fielder cannot be 100% sure that ball will come to him he should be in his toes to shase the ball.so there is lot of complecation in the mind of a fielder, so the good catches taken by fielders becomes beautiful than keepers.and most important keepers have gloves.

Wicket keeper is a very very specialized fielder whereas other fielders are not. Wicket keeper is not expected to even a singe misfielding in the entire match because of his training, who has the advantage of the gloves also. Secondly, catches on the field are more spectacular, which sometimes determines the fate of the match.

Because catches oftenly pick by keepers. and u see gr8 one catche by fielder in 5 to 10 games of ODIs . and 3 -5 of Test on average. But in 1-2 games of ODI and 1-2 of test, the wicket keeper often take gr8 catches. that why the fielders taken catches is appriciate and remember more.

because as the name suggests FIELDER has to cover the FIELD but if he catches ball then he wud be appreciate for that instead of that keeper has advantage of gloves he wears

well thats because the keepers wear gloves and besides most of the catches wicket keepers take are edges which they don't have to dive for; but i have to admit there are catches that are qutie difficult even for a wicket keeper.
