Ok-so....if you are a female you too have experienced this....when we get ingrown hairs we either rid ourselves of them by picking at them to get rid of the bump/sore.....and then the hair will either grow out or not at all but atleast the sore will be gone...however this time it was different.....after trying to get rid of it of course it was all nasty and sorta liquidy or what-knot but now instead of being gone it has developed into an open slit almost...it is no longer circular but more like a cut that is "meaty" while still being swollen on either side....

i know this may be a weird or even gross question, but after looking on google and other search engines for over an hour, you get desperate if your questions are not answered....ive looked at everything from cysts to herpes to dermatitis...and still nothing....

PLEASE HELP!!!
i'm kind of at a loss for words at to what to do for it..

it does not hurt (unless touched), nor does it itch....

thanks~

Sounds like you popped the ingrown hair but didn't get the hair out. I would go to doctor and have then pull it out. Or it could have turned into a cyst. Not fun good luck

When you have a sore on your body you SHOULD NOT PICK AT IT. You will get it infected, and even if it's just a little thing at first, an infection can be really bad and spread. You should go to your doctor and have them look at it - sounds like you spread the infection by picking at it, constantly picking at your skin will make it weak and spread the cut as you said. It could scar if you keep doing what you're doing. It might have been folliculitis or just an ingron hair at first - and though you think you will "fix" it by picking the bad part out - you will probably just end up making it worse. If you ever have this again, ff you leave it be, soak it with warm water and keep it clean, it will probably rise to clear itself out on its own in a week or so. Go to your doc now - they've seen this stuff before.

you have an infection, the ingrown hair has become infected. what you do is you take a hott compress (hott wash cloth) not too hot where you burn yourself of course, and press on the inflammation about 3 times a day so everything comes to a head...and although its painful, rubbing alcohol after doing that is also VERY helpful. It also helps when you do it before you go to sleep, then sleep withno bottoms on or undewear so the infection can air out. good luck!

Check with your doctor, it sounds like it's developed into an ulcer, which can be from an infection.
In the meantime, dab it with some hydrogen peroxide on a Q-tip twice a day and keep yourself very clean. Don't shave or depilate the area. Good Luck!

I forget exactly which once, but some STDs start with the development of a painless chancre. Get that checked out!

If you really want to know what it is, the only way to find out is to see a doctor.
