I have not found it to be true. But if you are 5' 2", anemic and weigh 115, check with your doctor first. She may advise you not to lose weight, you are very close to normal weight and still developing. With the anemia, you might do yourself harm if you try to diet.

im 14 yrs old 5'2 and 112 and anemic. I've never heard that and i dont see any reason why you wouldnt be able to. the only reason i can think of is that you're body is trying to keep the fat it has because it isn't getting enough. that would make it harder to loose, but not impossible

first off, you don't need to lose weight.
second, yes, if you have an imbalance in the body, the body will store fat against the problem, it is sometimes known as the famine response. If you are anemic, it is probably because you are too thin and your bones can't make the red blood cells you need.

I'm also having anaemia, and I lost weight too. It depends how you go about doing it. When you are anaemic, you tends to get breathless, so, do some light exercise instead. Eat healthy, e.g. lean meat.
