It means that you can't be tried twice for the same crime (individual incidents only). If you are tried for robbing Bank of America on a certain date, in a certain place, you can not be tried for that same robbery. BUT, you can be charged with robbing Bank of America on a different date, or different place, etc.

it means that you can not be tried for the same actions by the same entity twice.
However if you commit a federal crime and a state crime in an action and you win one of them then the other gov't can get you. You kill an FBI agent and are tried in federal court for killing federal employee and are acquitted the state can then charge you for the same crime.

It means once the court returns a verdict of "not guilty" then you can never be convicted of or punished for that crime.
It keeps the State from persecuting innocent people. They only get one chance.

It means: you can't be tried for the same crime twice. like if you rob a store and you go to court and are found not guilty then they can't arrest you for the same case.

If you go to trial on a crime and are found NOT guilty, the state can not appeal and try to get a new trial. You only have to stand trial once for your crime. If you are found not guilty, that's it.

You can't go on trial for the same offense, even if they find more evidence. Once the trial is over it is over
