My dad needs to remove oxygen from the air at a mine to prevent a potential fire. Is there anyway to do that? We thought about clorox, but I have no idea actually.

Assuming there is no one in the mine that needs to breathe, the safest thing to do is to blow in Nitrogen gas. Nitrogen is inert and will not support combustion. It is much safer to use than bleach

I'd go with Burning the Air with pure hydrogen gas as it will oxidize Hydrogen to form Water. Another way is to spark the air with Hydrogen to form Hydroge Peroxide.
