It all boils down to the lust that the public has for money and fame !!
We, as a collective social order, have SO little of note within our own daily hum-drum lives --- that the wild and crazy "stuff" we see these people revelling in looks like a Dream World of parties and indulgence !! We watch with awe and wonder while these people perform insanity in the public view and an amazing number of people wish that THEY could be THEM -- simply because they ARE rich and famous !! And, for obvious reasons -- this seems to mean far more in this present day society than being someone of good character and of rock steady and meaningful contribution TO the world on any scale at all !! An extremely sad note on WHO and WHAT we have become !!!!!!!!!

I don't feel I have to bow down to these celebs....but it's the media (yeah, I know - I can change the channel). I turned to watch Anderson Cooper 360 for a good current events topic, but all he's doing is covering the Larry King interview with Paris Hilton- what the h***??!!

I believe that Celebrities and Everyday People should get the same equal justice. Instead, Celebrities get away which their wrongdoing while everyday people do not. Here are some examples to consider;
1. When celebrities go to prison it does not affect their career but when everyday people go to prison, it will affect their reputation.
2. When celebrities who are not married (man and woman) have children together, society praises them but when a man and woman in everyday American Society has a child together and are not married, the society arounds them has a Field Trip.
3. When Celebrities curse out in public, nobody really cares but when everyday Americans curse out in public, people around them have a problem.
4. When Celebrities LIE to people they seen nothing wrong with lying but when the American People LIE to other Americans, the society around them has a field trip.
The reason why I believe celebrities and everyday people deserve the same justice is because everyday people are the ones who made celebrities famous. When has a celebrity made an everyday person famous?

i suppose its the way the human race works. like we need a person to look up to or a person to compare ourselves and our lives to. its like some need a "leader" to follow and change themselves to look like these people so that the may advance one step further to becoming so cool and perfect. these so called "celebrities" are nothing but regular people..they just have money and are known more around the world than others. the people, the world makes them famous. everything they do is written down and printed in magazines. like "Paris gets DUI and goes to jail" "Regular" People get DUI's everyday...do any magazines talk about that?? don't think so. "celebrities" are just something that people create so that they can look up to them. wow. just started rambling. i don't even think that made any sense. oh well.

I don't bow down to anyone and I think most Americans feel the same way.I have no respect for most of the celebrities, their life styles are so materialistic that they are a big turn off for me.

OMG that is the same **** I was thinking. It is just pure stupidity. I just wish people would just ignore them and let them go away. What are parents teaching there children by haveing pity on those arrested for drunk driving, and especially one that has a sex tape.

Only the nosey, gossipy type of people idolize famous icons who do nothing but show their collective rear in public. I have no respect for people who are in the limelight for being idiots.

I hold many of them in disdain myself...the good actors/musicians I respect, but much of the celebs have little talent and when they open their mouths I see why they don't have real jobs...

I won't mention it's name either. The reason is that we are a nation of morons, so the media is merely feeding our appetite for garbage. Until we collectively shrug our shoulders and say who f***ing cares, it won't change.
