Because it isn't the union's job to help collect child support. It is the union's job to protect the employees who belong to the union. That is all.

The EMPLOYER is responsible for collecting, when wages are attached for child support.

Would that be the job of the union? Or would that be the job of the employer and the child support enforcement agency?

WHAT?
It is not the responsibility of a LABOR union to enforce the judgment in cases regarding child support! They are there to fight for and protect the rights of workers in regards to their relations with their employers!

Why would unions care about child support? That is not their job.

They are not a law enforcement agency nor are they an employer with the ability to garnish wages as per court order.
