The Napa Valley is very close to San Francisco. That's where all the wineries are. Check out a California map and you'll see it, just north of SF.

Napa's in the north bay area of San Francisco. About 50 miles or so outside SF. Napa Valley includes Napa, Yountville, Rutherford, St. Helena, and Calistoga. The whole valley is only about 30 miles long. Napa has about 60,000+ people, but still feels like a small town to me.

Napa is about 47 miles northeast of San Francisco. It is in the north bay of the san francisco bay area. Technically a suburb of SF. see map attached. Takes approximately 1 hour by car or by ferry. You can drive it or you can take ferry from Pier 39 to vallejo and then take bus from vallejo to napa.
