You shouldn't do anything because it is between grandma and her doctor. And it does sound strange to me too. Maybe it is an antiaging type treatment? You know, hormones as the fountain of youth?

Once someone is taught proper injection technique it is fine for them to give their own injection each month. I am a little curious about why your 86 year old grandmother would be taking estrogen every month at her age- generally by the time we are in our 80's we do not need supplemental estrogen.

Are you complaining about it because you want to start giving granny the shots?Or you believe that granny is not capable because she is 86 years old? Or you don't believe that granny needs shots? Or that granny doesn't need estrogen, or because the thought of it is weird to you? why are you against it, or you just need more info on it and why it is given to granny at her age?Maybe you should bring that complaint to granny and her doctor? I'm sure the issue with granny and her estrogen level will get resolved that way.

A lot of people give themselves shots prescribed by a doctor. diabetics give their insulin. People with allergies give their allergy shots all the time. There's nothing strange about that.

You should seek the advice of a qualified medical doctor, not the ignorant guessers of Y!A.

Suggest to your grandmother to take Premphase/Prempro instead of the shots.
She will also get periods if she still has her womb.
