20. (_1, 3) and (4, _2)

Slope = (Y2 - Y1)/(X2 - X1) = (2 - 3)/(4 - 1) = -1/3

The line in point-slope form is Y - 2 = -1/3(X - 4)
Multiplying both sides by 3 gives:

3Y - 6 = -X + 4

Solving for x:

3Y - 6 = -X + 4
3Y = -X + 10
Y = -1/3X + 10/3 <== answer

24. (2, _3) and (2, 4)

Slope = (Y2 - Y1)/(X2 - X1) = (4 - 3)/(2 - 2) = 1/0 = undefined

This line is a vertical line, so its line is x = 2. <== answer

HOWEVER, if _1 is really -1, then these are your answers:

20. (-1, 3) and (4, -2)

Slope = (Y2 - Y1)/(X2 - X1) = (-2 - 3)/(4 - (-1)) = -5/5 = -1

The line in point-slope form is Y + 2 = -1(X - 4)

Y + 2 = -X + 4

Y = -X + 2 <== answer

24. (2,-3) and (2, 4)

Slope = (Y2 - Y1)/(X2 - X1) = (4 - (-3))/(2 - 2) = 7/0 = undefined

This line is a vertical line, so its line is x = 2. <== answer

I hope whichever is the right way helps you!! :-)

20. Use the equation y=mx+b, m=slope y/x, b=x axis intercept
y=(4-(-1))x/(-2-3)+b
y=5x/-5+b
y=-x+b
-1=3+b
b=-4
y=x-4

24. By inspection you have a horizontal line that crosses the y axis at 2 units. The line never intersects the x axis. The equation is y=2

I bet you thought that girls can't do math lol lol.

Question 20
(-1 , 3) and (4 , -2)
m = - 5 / 5 = (- 1)
y - 3 = (-1).(x + 1)
y = - x - 1 + 3
y = - x + 2

Question 24
(2 ,- 3) and (2,4)
This is a vertical line that passes thro` x = 2
Equation of line is x = 2

use this to find the slope: [the numbers are subsctips not exponents.
y2-y1
--------
x2-x1
so, for number 20,
x1=1
y1=3
x2=4
y2=2
------------------
now plug them in to find the sope, so:
2-3
-----
4-1
which gives you:
-1
----
3
The slope is:
-1/3
Now, plug this into slope intercept form which is:
y-y1=m(x-x1)
[you can choose any pair of coordinates to plug in], so, heres what you have now:
y-3=-1/3(x-1)
Now distribute so,
y-3=-1/3x-1/3
add the 3 so u now have:
y=-1/3x+8/3
The equation of this line is:
y=-1/3x+8/3
