"I am sitting". As you are unable to see if this is true or false, by what internal criteria do you determine that the information "I am sitting" is knowledge or belief?

By the simple matter that if my brain were that far off of reality that I could NOT determine if I were sitting, the human race would never have survived as long as we did.

It's not really that complicated.

I try not to assimilate knowledge or beliefs - I try to assimilate 'ideas'. It's pretty easy to change an idea but people go to war and die over beliefs. They think that they 'know' but nobody knows for certain. (ever see the movie 'Dogma'?)

I am comfortable with just the idea that 'I am sitting', I don't need to believe it. If someone were to tell me that they disagreed I'd like to think that I could be open-minded enough to hear their point of view.

Multiply your reading, add listening, subtract bias and personal beleifs, divide prejudices, facts and opinnion and see what stands the test of time and what can be built on or modified for use at a later time. Really you through it up in the air and see what you can grasp and hope that they can stand the test of fire.
