Unless you are lifting weights, you'll gain fat if you increase your cals intake. Simply take regular measurements of your chest and waist as weeks go by and you are lifting weights. If your waist is growing, cut back on cals. Strive for a 10 inch spread from waist to chest. To gain muscle, you must reach muscle failure in the 8 - 12 rep range...i.e., lift heavy enough weight so that you completely burn out in the 8-12 range. The day you reach 12 reps, add more weight...about 5% if possible. Try not to go up faster unless there isn't a 5% increment, such as in dumbels. Use a spotter on the bench so you can go to failure. If not, estimate one rep less than failure, rack the bar, then roll off the bench and over onto the floor and immediately start doing pushups until you cannot get off the floor. Split your routine into upper and lower body days.
Consume about 3/4 - 1gm of protein/day per pound of body weight if you are lifting weights...i.e., 145 gms. A protein supplement like EAS Myoplex varieties can help. Wait 48 hours to work the same muscle group to allow time for repair and growth. The split routine helps here. Be prepared for more ladies to come into your life!

Hey Alexander.
All of the diet supplements are useless unless you are:
a) working out regularly.
b) on a strict calorie controlled diet.
If you are not doing both of these things.. you are wasting your(or mother's) money.
The reason that I say so is that you can gain protein from natural sources if you are not controlling your diet. The only reason to have the protein shakes is to gain the benefit of protein without the fat and carbs that usually accompany them in natural food sources.
As for Cytogainer... it is high in calories.. 600 Cals I think.. so it si full of carbs.. designed as a meal replacement product... that is probably not the right stuff for you, if you have a bit of body fat to burn off.

Muscle weighs more than fat, so if you are mainly muscle that makes sense you weigh 145lbs. I don't know what Cytogainer is, if it is something you ingest, I would be very careful. You need to increase protein to help with muscle gain and nutrition and take good suppliments too.

You are in the correct range for you. That would put you at 22% body fat and that's normal 25% is when you'd be in the over weight catagory. If you want to stay small but gain muscle then when you workout do less weight and more reps. If you do more weight and less reps you will be bulking up not defining and toning.

To think of gaining muscles for a 16-yr.old guy is quite early unless you reserve your plan in the future upon maturity of your body which will be needing strenous exercises and maintaining weight . Simple exercises for stamina will do. meanwhile keep on balance diet. that is good for any age.

If you want to know if you are overweight, do some math. I think 20% of your body weight is skeleton. maybe that will help you finding out some things.
