Call your local board of health or other agency that deals in rental property and complain.
If its that unsafe, move.

I heard once that they are providing a service to us renters and if there is something not being down to the place that really needs to be done, you don't have to pay rent untill it is fixed and you don't need to back pay them. Not sure how correct that is. Maybe you could stop the rent and save to move out. Hope it will work out.

Ask your local fire department or chamber of commerce who landlords are accountable to. Landlords have rules and regulations they must go by......you need to find out who enforces these rules.

well, first of all.. if it is that unsafe why dont you move? why do you care to get it condemed first? i would move somewhere safe, then contact the local codes office or something and complain about it! good luck!

Why bother getting it condemned ? Just MOVE. If you DO manage to get it condemned, it will be considered uninhabitable and you will move ANYWAY.
