I had to terminate my lease on my apartment and advised the leasing manager. A couple weeks after leaving I received a phone call from their collection agency for the fees (termination fee, concessions & a month of rent). I told them i couldn't pay them because i still hadn't gotten a job, now i do have a job and called to make payment arrangements and was told I can only pay in 3rds. They aren't working with me and now they are harassing me and sending me to collections. I don't know what to do.

I'm unable to pay them in thirds because the amount they require is like 80% what I bring home. I only worked 5 1/2 months last year because I got laid off twice. I'm working two jobs nbow just to try to pay everyone else that has sent me to collections. They aren't working with me and now they are harassing me and sending me to collections. I don't know what to do.

BBB like Ulysses said and I would venture to say maybe the Attorney General of your state. You can always call and they can point you in the right direction.

Definitely Better Business Bureau. The State Department is shooting a bit high. You can also always contact whichever Senator/Representative of yours is up for reelection next year. That seldom fails.

Count your blessings that they are allowing you to pay in THIRDS. They are due what you owe in ONE payment. and it is already past due.

If you do not agree to their terms (they CAN set the terms), you will find yourself with a judgment, collection agencies, wrecked credit, and owing MORE than you do now. Bite the bullet and pay according to their offer.
