I saw this today and it annoyed me:

"The Spice Girls will be using the latest technology to enhance their voices when they perform live during their upcoming reunion tour, according to reports... if they sing out of tune during their live shows then the machine will correct it. Although the girls will not be lip-synching to backing music, their voices will be changed to make them sound better."

You don't even need a voice anymore to be able to put on a ''live'' gig? What the hell? Doesn't that mean you no longer need any form of talent to be a so-called 'musician'? I know talentless people have been around for ages in the public eye, but surely this will make a bad thing worse.

Does nobody else believe in guitars and talent - or even just talent! - any longer? Is anyone else, who loves being able to see live bands prove themselves, a bit revolted at this, or is it just me? How will this nonsense affect the music industry, apart from making it even more filthy rich and corrupt?

Paul Hyxz - no, I don't like the Spice Girls. LOL. I'm a guitarist too, although my plan to be the first female guitarist to take over the world hasn't come to fruition yet! I was on about the use of this technology in general, not relating to the Spice fools in particular.

Whats the point of them having a show then, why don't they just play one of their old CD's on some speaker equip for the show?.

I like it when everyone gives a group crap about being useless, but then they come back and remind you why you loved them in the first place and that they still have the talent and skill to pull off at least a decent show. but getting technology to do the work for you, that's a bit low especially for the fans (if there are any) that have waited for the group to return. I think that the need for technology to sing the song for you is a sign for you to end it.

I believe in real guitars, real drums, real bass players, and real musicians that can actually sing properly without the aid of a pitch correction device, but I guess I must be old school, like I'm from 2006... if you catch my meaning... I use machines to help me in my practice, but I've never seen a drum machine that had any stage presence whatsoever. It might be dead-on accurate, but it will never have any charisma.

Oh... its the Spice Girls... would you really watch that, would you really really watch, would you really watch that? Give me Buddy Guy, Johnny Winter, Walter Trout, Joe Bonamassa, Lance Lopez, Keb Mo, Popa Chubby, Chris Aaron, Greg Koch, Coco Montoya, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton... you know... people that can actually PLAY!
