I have my computer, modem, router and a monitor hooked up to my APC battery back up power surge. When the lighting strikes, or i pull the power cord from the socket, my computer and everything else turns off, the the unit strats making continues beeeeep sound. And also sometimes even when everythings turned off, it will start making beeping sound. Any ideas whats wrong with it?

Sounds like the battery has gone bad. You can replace those. Batteries usually only last a couple of years so if it is older than that you just need a new battery.

If you load the software that came with the UPS and connect the cable, then power everything up it will tell you what's wrong. The software will allow you to run diagnostics on the UPS, and it will tell you how much battery run time you have left and how much power you're using. (This is assuming you really have a battery backup unit and not just a surge arrestor.) The software will also allow you to change the sensitivity settings so every little bit of noise on the power line doesn't make it switch to battery for 30 seconds or so. That's the beeping sound you hear.

I have got to say this. You did connect the battery wires inside the battery compartment before you installed it? I have seen this happen. It will beep if installed and not connected. Sorry had to ask.

I assume you are talking about a UPS? What size in VA do you have. It may be too small for all the equipment you connected. ~
