At an atomic level then the answer would be yes. Just as you cannot create anything from nothing you cannot destroy something and create nothing. The constituent parts of the molecules and atoms would be re-arranged but would not cease to exist.
Sometimes stop and think, the air that you breathe may well contain atoms and molecules that would have been breathed by famous people as well as some infamous ones too!
