ultra aluminus full tower computer case
EVGA 8800 GTS 640 oc
3 gigs ram gskill (i wanna say the timing is 3-3-5-12)
light on dvd drive
sound blaster live 5.1 sound card
WD 160gb HD SATA
800 watt ultra x-pro
wireless networt card

some new things on my to do list would be another 160 gb hard drive a better sound card. I also know I could use 1...or 2 dvd burners...but thats not a necessity.A new MoBo that supports SLI and of course the most important thing another 8800!

my vista score is a 5.2 because of my processor...I was quite dissapointed until I realised that the score only went to a 7 and the rest of everything was in the high 5's low 6's

oh and if anyone plays battlefield 2142 hit me up sometime im only about half way ranked but always looking for people to play with (navman88),

I'll give you a 9 because there's still room for improvement.

1. Put a Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme and OC your processor.
2. Consider a WD Raptor HDD.
3. Don't listen to critics of your large PSU. It is efficient, should run very cool and last long w/ your load, and gives you plenty of elbow room for awesome upgrades. A review is here:

okay..... i have no idea about AMD but heck I wish I could have a computer like yours. well compared to what you could have (even though it's over kill and way expensive) like a quad cpu dual 8800GTX ultra's 8GB of RAM 2 terabytes of HDD and a blue-ray drive it's a 4/10 but hell I wouldn't rate anything compared to that system. I would have to say not compared to the best system that noone has , lol, it's a 9/10.... what's up with the 3GB of RAM though? Is it dual channel? Are all the sticks the same? lol. Yeah the HDD seems a little small but you said you'd upgrade that, lol... I need a new HDD too. The GPU is killer, bet you get some nice 3dMark scores huh? oh and my BF2142 name is steelspartan0 (the reason it's not stealspartan is because I had some.... problems with my account key and i had to make a whole new account and register so I could change the acount key) lol, hit me up, I'm no that good though maybe you could give me some pointers? :)

I think you have a gaming rig at about level 5. My vista score is 5.4 and I'm not even a gamer. I don't put much stock in the vista score myself. In fact, you can manipulate that score pretty easily.

AT YOUR OWN RISK
Navigate to C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore\xxxx-xx-xx xx.xx.xx.xxx Assessment.WinSAT.xml.

Open it with notepad. Approximately one 'paragraph' down, you will see listings between the 'winspr' tags.

These listings include 'system score', 'memoryscore', 'cpuscore', 'cpusubaggscore', 'videoencodescore', 'graphicsscore', 'gamingscore', and 'diskscore'.

Simply change the value that appears between the opening and closing tags.

Changing your graphics score to be over 3.0 allows you to have themes for the photo screensaver.

You won't be able to "Save As" with notepad so create the file in another directory then overwrite the original.

REMBER: Make a BACKUP copy of the original "Assessment.WinSAT.xml" before you overwrite it.

In any case you might try to find something good (like prime) to really torture test your rig. You also might try a slight overclock to improve your performance. Skip the 160 GB drive and get a couple of fast 250-500 GB drives and set them up in a RAID stripe if you are able. This will go far in speeding up your system

no dual graphic cards... useless 800watt power supply (you dont have enough crap to be using 800 watter) only 3gb ram when you could be using 4gb dual channel ram, only 1 rom drive, sound blaster kicks ***, whats the cache on the sata and is it a 150 or 300? that one is iffy on if its good or not. Your using an amd processor which is ok... i would have went for a dual core intel, or quad core intel. In my book, i would go with a 7.5 but my max would be an 8
