live with someone first before you marry them? Do you think everyone should just to get to know that person all the way around before making the commitment of marriage?

Nothing can prepare you for life with someone unless you have lived with them. You don't really get the whole picture of someone until you see how they live. Some of the day to day average stuff folks will do could push your buttons the wrong way. Been there and done that. Never lived with the girl I married. Didn't last very long. Never married after that but I've lived with a few women and let me tell you I like living alone a whole lot more.

I've seen couples live together for years and then get married and divorced. You should know a person all the way around before living with them. If you live with that person is is a committment like marriage. The only thing missing is the legal stuff.

I don't know that is hard I would want to know the person before I marry him because what if he does things I couldn't handle but I really don't think I should live with someone before I'm married to them so I wouldn't live with them

I lived with my ex-husband for a year before we got married. He was a different person when we returned from the honeymoon! No more splitting the chores, no more saying "do you mind if I head out with the guys tonight" he would just go. (Just a few examples)
So I don't think it is a guarantee of knowing someone if you live with them first! Just seeing how they live on their own should be a good indicator of sloppiness or dependence.

I think you should know the person completely. But I don't believe you should live with someone before you marry them.

no.............
i've never lived with a man and dont know too many that have unless they were married.
as a matter of fact, my husband and i were married for several months before we even moved in together.
and three years later, he still has stuff at the 'other house'.
(my mom passed right before the wedding and i decided i couldn't leave my elderly father alone, so he moved in with me. wasn't difficult, our homes are three blocks apart.)

I've found that the best solution is to live two doors down. Can't live with 'em? Can't live without 'em? Live near 'em.
