too late they have conditioned you to pass up better made American goods for poor quality Chinese made. Plus you all love walmart so very much. Oddly about walmart, all Chinese walmarts are unionized, but Americans working at walmart don't enjoy this option,

Most U.S. consumers don't care where the product is made, because they believe cheaper is better for their wallet. However, for the concerned, patriotic consumer, there is a federal statute that states all foreign made goods must be marked with the country of origin, in a legible, conspicuous, and permanent manner, readily discernible to the ultimate purchaser upon casual examination. The statute is Section 304, Tariff Act, 1930, and also 19 USC 1304 of the United States Code. The U.S. Customs Service is the agency responsible for the enforcement of this law. Now, do you really believe that law is being enforced under the current administration?

It is sad that people have become so possessed with price that they risk their lives to save a few cents. If those libs in this country could turn their attention to what the people want from congress instead of wasting time going after Cheney and Bush the ratings of congress might go up. Instead of looking at Cheney records they should be looking at the customs officials that let trash into this country from China. China is known for mislabeling container manifest and getting away with it. Anything found mislabeled should be destroyed and the shipper penalized. PERIOD. That would pay for more controls at the ports of entry and actually do some good but since special interest want both the ports and the borders open nothing gets done.

Americans want products at a cheaper price, and there is nothing wrong with Americans buying Chinese products. Granted there is a trade imbalance and I believe it should be corrected to even things up, but Americans are consumers and that is an American ideal. If we want to buy things for cheaper then we should. If there are faults with the product then we should address the issue, but we shouldn't stop all trade with foreign countries out of some sort of warped nationalism. We are a patriotic country but we're a country of people who understand economics. We buy things cheaper. If we stopped buying things from China, then what will happen? We would end up hurting the consumer because he or she wouldn't be able to afford items and their standard of living would go down.

I am reading my labels much more carefully and even that isn't a guarentee. I bought a fan that said Made in USA on the box......but made in China stamped on the fan. Who knew? I'm doing everything in my power to make sure I'm not buying from them. Until they have a global standard and it's enforced.....I'm leery of anything from other countries anymore. Heck....I'm leery of things from here after the ecoli outbreaks.

YES, we should stop ALL trade with China until they stop being communist. They have little, or no regard for our laws, patents, and intellectual rights.
I saw a magnetic sticker with the words on it "Support Our Troops" in very small print, the words "Made in China". Now there is irony at it's greatest!

Yes. Only then will China wake up to the concept of quality control and truly do something about insuring the safety of its exports.

We could but Clinton gave them allot of contracts and i do not know when they run out. As long as one can buy a pair of Nike's for $50.00 made in China verses a pair made here for $150.00 China will always have our business.
The also have Military contracts which put many people here out of work.Thank you Clinton
