I don't know about the best, but I use garlic powder. I just sprinkle it on my dogs food...it really works!!! I was super skeptical when I heard about it but it beats spending all that money at that vets office. Hope this helps! Cheers.

Wow I have never heard of the garlic powder before. I guess I will have to try it one day.

When I had a flea problem I would use Advantage. You have to get if from your vet but trust me it works. Now dont think the moment you put it on your pet all of the fleas will fall of. It takes a little time but it stopes the fleas from hatching. It causes the eggs too hard for them to hatch so you are killing the fleas at the start of life.

The best treatment I have found is the Frontline or Advantage Phials. These are squeezed between shoulder-blades of animal. They not only kill adult fleas, but also eggs, ticks, and in some cases-Worms. So good value for money. I also give dogs a dog roll with garlic in it.They say Garlic deters fleas. Then you can also spray their bedding with a suitable flea spray. There are also natural pyrethrum sprays. Check with your Pet Shop.

Bathe your pets in dish soap baths. This kills fleas. Rinse thoroughtly, and towel dry. Repeat in one or two weeks, when the eggs have hatched. Use a flea comb around the face, ears and eyes.

some people say this is not a good idea but i have used it for at least a year now.at the local drug store pick up some lye soap usually under $3.00 and lather him up and let the lather sit for 3 minutes and then rinse it off, this will last only a couple of weeks but it also helps dry skin on dogs, the bar of soap will last for 3 months or so,i know lots of other things you can use lye soap for to if you would like to know email me ,also try to soak tea bags into the bath water and then remove the bags, this also works for about 2 weeks but both work.hope this helps

Just use Advantage or Frontline plus. Both are extremely safe and non-toxic, plus they work well. Large amounts of garlic can be toxic, and if it really worked we wouldn't need any other flea products.

I prefer Advantage. They now have a new Advantage out that does it all, fleas, HW preventative, and a couple types of worms.
