I am not pregnant, and don't plan on becoming pregnant for at least a few years. But I am curious at what a typical hospitial bill costs for an insured patient to give birth.

It all depends on your insurance. For me, I paid about $1500 out of pocket for the labor and delivery. Uninsured, it's between $10,000 to $15,000 (have a friend who had to pay the whole thing out of pocket). Of course, it's more if there's complcations or surgery (I had a vaginal birth).

It cost around $10,000.00 and my kids are 6 and 8 not sure what it cost now. We had insurance at the time, so we did not pay that much, but did pay at least 20% of it. And my daughter caught a viral infection at 5 1/2 weeks and had to be airlifted which cost another $16,000.00, we are probably still paying for that LOL

Most bills include the whole 9 months of prenatal WHETHER YOU SEE THE DOCTORS OR NOT. Then there are three routes, Vaginal birth, C-section and NICU. I had a C-section and my baby went to the NIC U for 2 weeks. Our bill was nearly $40,000. Thank God for insurance

We only had to pay a $100 deductable and the cost of the birth certificates.

it varies from insurance to insurance. With my first child I had 100% hospital coverage, that was wonderful!!! With this baby I am on different insurance, and it will cost me 1500 max, since that is my yearly out of pocket maximum. Best advice is to check with your insurance before you get pregnant so you don't have a nasty surprise.

It depends entirely on insurance. It cost a friend of mine about 5000 dollars, but it is going to cost my husband and I about 200 dollars. We have excellent insurance.

Insured, my bill was $0.00. Even my check-ups were free. I had a c-section, and my bill would have been $30,000 if I had to pay.
