You must mean C230 Kompressor.
29mpg higway, 21 city. Not a guzzler in anyone's definition.

Just to correct John Paul: the Solstice/Sky is built at GM's Wilmington, Delaware plant in the US.

I own both a Coupe Benz and a 911, so I have some background in cars.
A supercharged version of the C-class is a high HP version, and realistically, the best it will do on the hwy, is 23-24 MPG. Those EPA quotes...NOT real world testing...AC OFF, 55 MPH, NO HILLS, WINDOWS ROLLED UP..etc, that's why there is that little small disclaimer..."hwy mileage will probably be less, your mileage will vary), and most assuredly so.
Honda's version of their Hybrid is being canceled because it could get no better than 25MPG, Toyota has claims of close to 60MPG for the Prius, yet real world is about 40, so figure about 15-25% LESS than what the EPA or mfg claims the MPG to be.
It's not a gas guzzler, but it's no economy car either. I am just given you the real scoop, not some salespersons pitch anxious to get their commision.
Good Luck!

As with all cars, but especially turbo or supercharged ones, it depends on your foot. The kompressor doesnt require a heavy foot to move it, so is quite economical for the power available. Most of the time the komp isn't going to be "spooled up", so it will be running at very similar economy of other 2-3litre cars. A tip however - never, ever, use low octane gas - that will cost you more per mile even if it costs less to fill - the range of premium gas in the komp is way better than regular. Enjoy it!

It is quite ecomomical actually the supercharger justs makes up for the small engine size. so expect V-6 like fuel economy around town and four cyl like on the highway at 70 mph. 16 in town and 29 or more highway. There are new convertable cars Saturn SKY Redline and Pontiac Solstice GXP that perform better and get the same gas mileage. The M.B. is German. Pontiac Saturn are built in the UK.

I am in Germany, and I have one. It is not a gas guzzler and probably any of the Mercedes line up to a 280 are considered fuel efficient.

29 Hwy and 21 City, a bit worse than a Ford taurus. I`d put that about medium.
The Diesel benz` get much better mileage with the same performance. look for a Diesel if you want 30mpg IN TOWN (40 hwy) and still move quickly

As mentioned earlier that depends upon you driving habbits. It is a fuel pig compared to a Smart or A class, but the 2.4liter supercharged engine is good on fuel until you try to break the sound barrier.

No it's not a gas guzzler. I think you have the 1.8 supercharged (kompressor) DOHC. come on , my 2 litre bottle of coke is bigger than your engine.

I had one and it averaged around 22 mpg. Be sure to put the correct fuel in it.
