Do not call McAfee for tech support. I have been on hold for 67 minutes (long distance) waiting for someone to help me. This is my third call to them for the same virus they can't remove and they want me to pay another $49. I could just buy a new computer for all I've spent with this. I just wanted to let you all know before you get ripped off like I am. I've had this for a week and there's no end in sight. Stay tuned for a funner question later... Sorry and thanks!

I had problems with McAfee too, only they didn't charge me for the tech support.

What they did was put a file on my desktop to totally delete MaAfee and then they told me after I deleted it totally to reinstall it.

I deleted it and let the subscription run out on it's own. I then changed to a better firewall after I deleted it.

If your runnung Windows Me that would be your problem, because windows me puts up a wall for the backup that no firewall can penetrate, I had to call microsoft to find that out.

They told me to take the wall down then scan it and fix the virus because the virus was backed up behind the wall and couldn't be deleted. Then they said to put the wall back up.

If I were you I would cancel my subscription and change to a different company, try NOD32 it's one of the best. It's a European company and is rated one of the best, I had problems with Norton too, but have had none with NOD32.

Here is the link, they even have a free trial

Good Luck!

I'm sorry. I know how you feel I was on hold with my bank for most of the afternoon and when I finally got a human, they told me they would have to call me back and then never did. Thanks for letting us know about the issues you are having though. I'll avoid using McAfee.
