Parents: Would you let your 13 year old have and energy drink?
Teens: Would your parents let you drink an energy drink at 13?
So, here's the story, we were at the store and I wanted an energy drink since I've never had one before. So I got one and brought it back to the cart, and my mom put it back on the shelf and said no. So then I took it and put it on the belt when we were checking out and she bought it, but told me I couldn't have it. Well we got into the car and I took it, but she said I couldn't have it because "It's not good for kids". Well, I'm drinking it now, but despite this story, would you let your thirteen year old drink an energy drink?

Well my mom said, "Go get things you want for lunch." So I did...and she checked everything before she put it in the cart. She saw me put it on the register and I made sure she did.

Energy Drink Smenergy Drink! It's more crap than good regardless if you are an adult or a child!
To the point of the question though. If I am going to pay for it then you better do as I say, so that would be no! If I were to be drinking them myself, then I would use common sense and advice you against it, but would not say no, that would be hypocritical.
Oh Sam and Ryan M. I have a dessert here for you. It has dog crap in it, but only a moderate amount. Would you like some? Sorry the moderation thing only applies to good and healthy things. In other word to much of anything is bad for you! But crap is crap, is crap, is crap, no mater what levels of moderation you use. Nope you will not notice anything bad from it now, but just wait, the more crap you ignore the more you'll notice its bad effects when you are older. There is not a magic age but lets just say in about your 30's.

Well the way you went about getting it was wrong and as a parent I would have told the clerk not to ring that purchase up as I had already told you no once. However, as a parent I think that one energy drink is not going to harm you any worse than allowing you to have a soda, or koolade or any other drink with sugar in it. Energy drinks contain natural ingredients that are mostly vitamin B's that cause an energy boost. Therefore I wouldn't have told you No in the first place.

Yeah, my dad lets me have regular energy drinks. For example, a Rockstar, which has 160mg caffeine. Or a redbull with 70mg if I remember correctly. The only ones he won't let me have are the ones where you have to be 18 to consume...which have about 250mg per 8oz....but I just go to my grandma for that lol. If you ever see your mom having a cup of caffeinated coffee, just remind her that it averages about 50-150mg per cup. Caffeine is a stimulant...it's not good for either of you. But hey, moderation is key. Even green tea, chocolate and soda contains caffeine.

May as well, if you're going to drink it, you'll drink it with or without my OK. I don't see what's wrong with it myself.
