WD-40 works to remove most adhesives from a surface like your car. It comes in a Blue can with a big yellow WD-40 on it and you can find it at your hardware store. Sometimes at your local grocers as well. Spray it on a towel and rub the tape residue away!

IMO The very best way to remove duct tape adhesive is to use another piece of duct tape. Use the sticky side of a fresh piece of duct tape to pick up the majority of the adhesive. Then wipe the surface with a clean rag lightly soaked in wd40 or isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol.

Stay away from solvents, they will erode plastic and paint. I used hair spray which contains the same solvent, but not nearly as harsh on those materials. As soon as ou are done, wash the area with warm soapy water. This will only take 5 minutes. Roll Tide!!!

WD-40 works really good---do a little area at a time and use some elbow grease.

3M Adhesive Cleaner works great. You should be able to get it at an auto parts store.
